Watershed Function: Biogeochemical dynamics from genomes to watershed scales

Mountainous watersheds provide 60 to 90 percent of water resources worldwide, but there’s high uncertainty in predicting how they function. This impacts energy production, agriculture, water quality, and other societal benefits. To address this uncertainly, we’re developing a better understanding of how these critical watersheds retain and release water, nutrients, carbon and metals.
