Data and Instruments
The collection of observational data and the instruments used for data collection are an integral component for climate science and climate modeling. Observational data is collected throughout the DOE lab complex, the largest data collector is the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility. ARM data is collected from three atmospheric observatories: Southern Great Plains, North Slope of Alaska, and Eastern North Atlantic, and from three ARM mobile and aerial facilities. These facilities are instrumental in measuring clouds, aerosols, radiation, and others, and in investigating the interactions among them.
